Committee on Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences awarded the prof. Michał Życzkowski Scientific Prizes for the year 2017. Dr. Dariusz Jarząbek from the Department of Mechanics of Materials received the prize of the second degree.

On May 7, 2018, the Polish Patent Office granted a patent for the IPPT PAN, Nałęcz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, Polish Academy of Sciences (IBBE PAS) and Warsaw University of Technology (WUT). Title of the invention: "A method for the preparation of a wide-porous, polyester cellular scaffold".

On May 2018, National Science Centre (NCN) has approved and subsidized project at IPPT PAN: Investigation of the influence of strain rate on elastic-plastic properties of Gum Metal under quasi-static and dynamic loadings using field optical methods.

On April 17th, 2018, IPPT PAN co-organised the CePT exhibition. The exhibition accompanied the CePT conference on Innovative Biomedicine Platform. It took place in Warsaw, at the Warsaw Medical University Didactic Center.
