The ceremonial Jubilee Celebration on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Professor Witold Gutkowski was held on September 28, 2018 at the Auditorium of IPPT PAN. The ceremony was honored by the presence of many distinguished representatives of the Polish researchers community.
European Commission, in the frame of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange call, has subsidized the project “iP-OSTEO - Induced pluripotent stem cell seeded active osteochondral nanofibrous scaffolds”. The project is coordinated by Eva Filova PhD from the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences. IPPT PAN will be represented by Tomasz Kowalczyk PhD from the Laboratory of Polymers and Biomaterials.
On September 24-29, 2018, Science Festival took place at IPPT PAN. In the annual event we presented the series of lectures and laboratory presentations for audience of all ages.
Paweł Nakielski from Department of Biosystems and Soft Matter (IPPT PAN), has become winner of the LIDER competition. Project name: Injectable scaffolds for tissue engineering.
Magdalena Gruziel and Maria Ekiel-Jezewska from IPPT PAN, in cooperation with Piotr Szymczak from University of Warsaw and scientists from Lausanne, demonstrated that knots tied on long microfibers settling in a fluid flatten and expand forming doughnut-like shapes. The results have been published in Physical Review Letters.
The Director of the IPPT PAN together with the Head of PhD Studies of the IPPT PAN have decided to conduct additional recruitment for doctoral studies at IPPT PAN. Therefore, an additional entrance examination on the existing rules will take place on the 17th of September 2018 (Monday) at 11:00 in room 228.
In September 2018, Dorota Kołbuk-Konieczny, PhD, from the Laboratory of Polymer and Biomaterial in IPPT PAN received a scholarship refunded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.
Assoc. Prof. Elżbieta Pieczyska from the Department of Experimental Mechanics has been awarded the EURASEM Committee Award (The European Society for Experimental Mechanics). The award is a recognition and distinction an individual who has demonstrated both technical excellence in experimental mechanics and good service to EuraSEM.
Filippo Pierini from the Department of Biosystems and Soft Matter (IPPT PAN), has become winner of the FIRST TEAM competition. Project name: Electrospun conducting hydrogel nanomaterials for neural tissue engineering.
Two educational programs were offered by IPPT PAN at the 22. Science Picnic of Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre, which took place at the National Stadium in Warsaw on June 9, 2018.
