In October 2018 IPPT PAN was awarded by the European Commission with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and joined the group of organisations eligible to participate in Erasmus+ programme.

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for the years 2014-2020 to support education, training, youth and sport activities. The programme budget is 14.7 billion euro. Erasmus+ has originated from the well-known European educational programmes which operated until 2013 such as Lifelong learning, Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus or Tempus.

Funding from Erasmus + programme is dedicated to many types of activities, including training and education mobility (incoming and outbound) of students, including PhD students, and staff from and to eligible organisations located in many countries in the world.

Rules of Erasmus+ programme implementation at IPPT PAN

IPPT PAN - as an institution which runs PhD schools and holds „Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020” - has the right to host incoming mobility participants from eligible foreign institutions, to send PhD students and staff to relevant institutions, located abroad, and to participate in other programme actions.

Currently IPPT PAN executes mobility (inbound and outbound) from and to eligible organisations located in so called Erasmus+ programme countries, which are:

  • European Union Member States,
  • the following non-EU countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, United Kingdom.

The Erasmus+ eligible mobility goals are education, teaching and training.

In case of mobility between Erasmus+ programme countries the general rule is that an individual scholarship (and in case of staff mobility, also a travel grant) is paid from the programme funds by a sending organisation.
