The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the winners of the second edition of the IMPULS competition.
The aim of the contest is promoting applied research and developing scientists’ skills related to the commercialization of research and development results.
34 proposals were submitted for the competition and 16 researchers were qualified to the second stage during which they presented their projects to the committee consisting of the scientific and business specialists. Upon the recommendations given by the committee, the board of the Foundation for Polish Science has decided to award 2 first category prizes, 4 second category prizes and 1 third category prize.
One of the first place winners was Łukasz Nowak from the IPPT PAN. The topic of the winning project is "Commercialization of an innovative, passive underwater acoustic communication system". The project continues the research performed within the framework of the "Bionic Sonar" project, conducted in the IPPT PAN by Łukasz Nowak.
