Seven IPPT PAN doctoral students have started their doctoral studies as part of the POWER Och!Dok project (implemented under the 2014-2020 Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme), which gives a unique opportunity to combine five technical science disciplines: Biocybernetics, Biomedical engineering, Mechanics, Electronics, Informatics and Materials Engineering and also Life Sciences disciplines, i.e.: Medical Biology and Medicine.
The project is entitled Rozwój i wykorzystanie metod bioinżynieryjnych i informatycznych w prewencji, diagnostyce i terapii chorób cywilizacyjnych - kompleksowy rozwój kompetencji zawodowych młodej kadry naukowej (Development and use of bioengineering and information technology methods in the prevention, diagnostics and therapy of civilisation diseases – a complex development of professional competences of young scientific staff).
The consortium comprises of three scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences:

- Institute of Fundamental Technological Research(IPPT PAN)
- Mossakowski Medical Research Centre (IMDiK PAN)

The main aim of the POWER Och!DOK project is to increase the quality and effectiveness of PhD education. The tasks carried out as part of the proposed interdisciplinary doctoral study will provide unique opportunities for the doctoral students to acquire in-depth knowledge that goes much beyond their disciplines, owing to the cooperation of partner institutes (IBIB, IMDK, IPPT).
The project will foster a long-term scientific and didactic cooperation of the partners and will help to achieve mutual benefits for the process of educating high-class interdisciplinary specialists with a doctoral degree. The complementarity of research profiles will allow the institutes to achieve synergy in the perspective of long-term development of research, integration and strengthening of scientific capacity of BioCentrum Ochota.
