Our study of cell signaling in innate immunity published in Nature Communications
A team of researchers led by Tomasz Lipniacki from the Department of Biosystems and Soft Matter have analyzed how intra- and intercellular signaling pathways process information about the presence of a pathogen. By combining experimentation and computational modeling they demonstrated how feedback and feedforward loops connecting pathways that control activation of the key innate immunity transcriptions factors, IRF, NF-κB and STAT, coordinate cell fate decision in cellular populations to limit pathogen spread.
