On 13-14 September 2017, our Institute has been visited by Hélène Chraye, Head of the Unit Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. The aim of this visit was participation in the National Information Day on NMBP - Work Programme 2018-2020 and the workshop "Open Innovation Hubs – Foundations for Future Industry".

The meetings took place at IPPT PAN.

The guests were greeted by Prof. Tadeusz Burczyński, Director of IPPT PAN, and Jarosław Piekarski, Coordinator for NMBP (Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology, and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing) at National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the European Union. During the meeting Hélène Chraye gave two presentations "H2020 NMBP 2018-20 calls - new approach and Q&A" and "Open Innovation Hubs: objectives, areas, implementation".

After the meeting Hélène Chraye visited several scientific laboratories at IPPT PAN:

• laboratories at the Department of Mechanics of Materials (Prof. Stanisław Stupkiewicz, Prof. Michał Basista and Dariusz Jarząbek, Ph.D.),
• laboratory at the Department of Information and Computational Science (Prof. Paweł Dłużewski),
• laboratory at the Department of Biosystems and Soft Matter (Prof. Tomasz A. Kowalewski).

The visit covered different scientific fields:
