Abstract:

A refined averaged theory of a rigid heat conductor with a microperiodic structure is used to solve a one-dimensional initial boundary value problem ofheat conduction in a periodically layeredplate with a largenumber of homogeneous isotropic layers. A uniqueness theorem for the averaged problem is proved, and two closed-form solutions for a periodically layered semispace are obtained. One of the two solutions represents the temperature field in the layered semispace due to a sudden heating of the boundary plane, while the other stands for the temperaturefield in the layeredsemispace produced by laser surface heating. Numerical examples are included.

Abstract:

In this contribution an averaged refined model of a rigid heat conductor with micro-periodic structure is formulated. The proposed model describes the effect of a microstructure length dimension on the time-dependent heat transfer processes. It is shown that this effect plays a crucial role in the analysis of nonstationary problems and hence the known effective modulus theories of heat conduction (where the microstructure is scaled down), have the range of applicability restricted to steady-state problems.

Abstract:

The effect of interlaminar bonding imperfections on behaviour of shells, investigated in [1], is elaborated here for a special case of laminated plates. The problem is stated for linear elastic materials, within the small displacement gradient theory. The obtained results are ilustrated by an example.

Abstract:

The main aim of this contribution is to propose a 2D-mathematical model of thermoelastic layered composites. This model is based on a 3D-linearized thermoelastic continuum theory with internal kinematical and thermal constraints. A fundamental system of field equations for 3D-layered composites is reduced to a system of field equations for 2D-thermoelastic material continua, describing thermoelastic processes in composite plates and plate-like bodies.
