The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is an opportunity for all to take a stand for girls and women in science. IPPT PAN encourages women and girls with inquisitive minds to join us on this fascinating journey of scientific discovery and to conduct high quality research in the areas being the focus of the world's science and technology.
2016 marked the first International Day for Women and Girls in Science, established by the United Nations Member States. As a part of the celebration of this International Day, we pause to consider the challenges that remain for women in science. Girls and women continue to face stereotypes and social and cultural restrictions that limit their access to education and funding for research and prevent them from scientific careers and reaching their full potential.
